About This Trail

A strenuous Long Trail ascent to the 4,083-foot summit of Mount Ellen, tied with Camel’s Hump as Vermont’s third highest peak. The route crosses Sugarbush ski runs offering expansive views of the Mad River Valley, while the wooded summit connects to ridgeline traverses toward Mount Abraham.

Getting There

From Warren, take the Sugarbush Access Road north to the resort, or drive to the Appalachian Gap on Route 17 for Long Trail access. The Jerusalem Trail off Jim Dwire Road offers another approach.
