About This Trail

Climb 2,962 feet over 6.3 strenuous miles to the summit of the Taconic Range’s highest peak at 3,848 feet, looming directly above Manchester. The summit opens to 360-degree views spanning the Green Mountains, Valley of Vermont, and the Adirondacks, with Lookout Rock’s marble bench nearby.

Getting There

From Manchester Village, head to the end of West Union Street off Route 7A. Park at the Red Gate trailhead parking area. Follow the Red Gate Trail to the Blue Summit Trail for the Mount Equinox summit.
