About This Trail

Six miles of trails wind through one of the best-preserved Revolutionary War archaeological sites in America, on a rocky Lake Champlain peninsula in Orwell. Hikers walk past blockhouses, batteries, and soldiers’ huts where 13,000 troops once defended the fortification alongside Fort Ticonderoga in 1776-1777.
