About This Trail

A 4.1-mile out-and-back climb along a historic 1870s carriage road to the 1,287-foot summit of Snake Mountain in Addison, an island of upland forest rising above the Champlain Valley. The top delivers 180-degree views across farmland, Lake Champlain, and deep into the Adirondack Range.

Getting There

From Addison Four Corners, take VT-17 east to Mountain Road. Turn south on Mountain Road and follow it past Whitford Road to the parking lot on the right, about 500 feet north of Wilmarth Road.
