About This Trail
The blue-blazed loop climbs 650 feet from the Lemont trailhead to the 2,040-foot summit of Mount Nittany, the landmark peak overlooking Penn State University and the Nittany Valley. Seven designated overlooks along the ridgetop offer views of State College and the surrounding ridge-and-valley terrain. Rocky, steep ascent gives way to a pleasant mountaintop circuit through oak-hickory forest.
