About This Trail

Steep 2.9-mile route ascending through Hot Springs National Park’s forested mountains with 767 feet of elevation gain. Connects to the Peak Trail spur leading to Hot Springs Mountain Tower, where a 360-degree panoramic view encompasses the city and surrounding Ouachita Mountain ridges. Sturdy footwear recommended for washouts.

Getting There

From Hot Springs, take AR-7 south approximately 20 miles. The Mountain Top Trail trailhead is accessible from forest roads off AR-7 near the Ouachita National Forest area south of Mount Ida.
