About This Trail

Seven-mile route through Congaree National Park’s old-growth floodplain forest, passing ancient loblolly pines and bald cypress trees towering like 16-story buildings. Wise Lake and diverse wildlife habitats host pileated woodpeckers, barred owls, and alligators. GPS recommended, as backcountry markings can be difficult to follow.
