About This Trail
A C&O Canal towpath route to the 3,118-foot Paw Paw Tunnel, the longest man-made structure on the canal, built with over six million bricks between 1836 and 1850. Bring a flashlight to walk through the tunnel, where original rope burns and brass plates bring canal history to life.
