About This Trail

Following a rugged section of the Appalachian Trail near Bluemont, this 5.2-mile route gains over 1,500 feet across the roller coaster ridgeline. Hikers cross the VA/WV state line before reaching prominent rock outcrops with sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains.

Getting There

From Bluemont, the trailhead parking is off Route 7 on Pine Grove Road at Snickers Gap. If the lot is full, drive east on Route 7 for 0.4 miles and turn right onto Blue Ridge Mountain Road for the larger AT-Snickers Gap parking area.
