Accessed from the Appalachian Trail corridor near Bluemont, Virginia, Bears Den Rocks offers a collection of boulders overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. Sunset views across the valley are particularly stunning, and the site connects to a 19.5-mile AT section stretching north to Harpers Ferry.

Getting There

From Charles Town, WV, take WV-9 west toward the Blue Ridge. The Bears Den Overlook is on the Appalachian Trail near the VA-WV border. Park at the Bears Den Hostel parking area off Route 7 (Harry Byrd Highway) near Bluemont, VA.
