Boardwalk and sandy path through Huntington Beach State Park’s coastal forest of oaks and red cedars, ending at an observation tower over brackish Sandpiper Pond. Exceptional birding draws waterfowl, herons, and shorebirds, plus a unique octopus tree along the route.

Getting There

From Murrells Inlet, take US-17 south about 3 miles to Huntington Beach State Park. Enter the park and follow signs to the north beach parking. The Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail begins from the north end lot.
