About This Trail

Ascend to Acadia’s second-highest peak at 1,362 feet for panoramic views of Somes Sound, the Cranberry Isles, Cadillac Mountain, and the Porcupine Islands. Multiple steep granite routes converge on the broad, exposed summit, offering a challenging and rewarding hike with fewer crowds than Cadillac.

Getting There

From Bar Harbor, take the Park Loop Road south to the Jordan Pond House parking area, about 3.7 miles past the Cadillac Mountain Summit Road turnoff. Access Sargent Mountain via the Spring Trail behind Jordan Pond House.
