Tracing the North Fork of the Shenandoah River through its namesake seven dramatic bends, this trail hugs the western slope of Powell Mountain. Paddling and wade fishing complement the hiking, with smallmouth bass thriving in the shallow, scenic river stretches.

Getting There

From Woodstock, take I-81 Exit 283 east on VA-42 (W. Reservoir Road). Turn right onto S. Hollingsworth Road and continue 1 mile to Seven Bends State Park at 2111 South Hollingsworth Road.
