A steep route to South Kinsman’s 4,358-foot summit with dramatic ledge views over the Franconia Notch region and Kinsman Pond. The rugged trail demands sure footing on rock slabs and roots, rewarding strong hikers with one of the finest viewpoints along the Kinsman Ridge.

Getting There

From Franconia, take I-93 to the Lafayette Place Campground exit. Park in the lots on either side of the highway. Cross the bridge over the Pemigewasset River and follow signs for Lonesome Lake Trail.
