About This Trail

Named for Albert Stoll Jr., the Detroit News editor who championed Isle Royale’s preservation, this 4.2-mile loop begins near Rock Harbor Lodge and follows some of the island’s loveliest Lake Superior shoreline. The trail passes through mixed deciduous and pine forest with exposed volcanic rock outcrops. Elevation gain of 190 feet keeps it accessible.
