About This Trail

A 1.5-mile trail from the Stratton Mountain area to the historic CCC-era fire tower on the 3,940-foot summit where the Appalachian Trail was first conceived. The tower provides 360-degree views of the Green Mountain and Taconic ranges, especially stunning during fall foliage.

Getting There

From West Wardsboro, take Stratton-Arlington Road (Kelley Stand Road) west about 7 miles. The AT/Long Trail parking area is on the north side of the road. The fire tower is 3.8 miles up the trail.
