Walk behind Grotto Falls
Trillium Gap Trail to Grotto Falls is a moderate trail off the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. It is 2.6 miles roundtrip though a old-growth hemlock dominated forest. Grotto Falls is distinctive as the only waterfall in the park one can walk behind, the 25 foot high waterfall is a cool, moist environment that is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The picturesque nature of the falls along with the unique ability to walk behind the falls makes this a very popular trail, so expect company on your hike.
