Sevier County
Chimney Tops
Scenic vistas and rugged rock outcroppings
This is a difficult trail that rises over 1000 feet in elevation and the top requires using hands and feet to make the final ascent, but the view is spectacular from the top. The easy access makes this a popular trail so you will have company on this hike. Begin at the Parking area off Newfound Gap Road and you will descend to the bridge over Walker Camp Prong. The large rocks makes this a popular site, especially during the summer months. You will cross the Road Prong several times on the hike. The trail has warning signs near the top, stating not to go any further. The rest of the way is very rocky and hard to manage. If you do make it to the top, you will have a nice view of Mt. LeConte
