About This Trail
Challenging loop climbing to Maryland Heights for one of the grandest panoramic views in the eastern United States, overlooking Harpers Ferry and the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Civil War fortifications including breastworks and gun batteries from 1862 line the steep, rocky ascent.
