About This Trail
A rolling walk through Crampton’s Gap on South Mountain, site of an 1862 Civil War battle and the world’s first War Correspondents Memorial Arch, built in 1896. The Appalachian Trail traverses the park, connecting to longer routes toward Harpers Ferry.
