About This Trail

A 1.5-mile easy nature trail at Whitefish Point, one of the premier birding sites on Lake Superior and home to the oldest operating lighthouse in the Upper Peninsula, built in 1849. The elevated boardwalk crosses cobblestone deposits and stunted jack pines to the tip of the point. Exceptional spring and fall bird migration viewing.
