About This Trail

A ridge-and-valley AT segment through Vernon and Wawayanda featuring the famous Pochuck Boardwalk and suspension bridge over wetlands, followed by climbs to rocky highland viewpoints. The trail transitions from valley floor to ridgeline with broad scenic variety. One of the AT’s most diverse segments in New Jersey.

Getting There

From Vernon, take Route 94 south to the Appalachian Trail crossing. Parking is available at the Route 94 AT trailhead lot. The trail heads south through the Vernon Valley toward Wawayanda State Park.
