About This Trail
A 2.6-mile round-trip on the Appalachian Trail climbing 889 feet via steep rock steps nicknamed the “Stairway to Heaven” to Pinwheel’s Vista. The blue-blazed spur at the top offers a clear view of the Vernon Valley, Pochuck Mountain, and the Kittatinny Ridge. One of the most popular day hikes in northern New Jersey.
