About This Trail

A short nature walk winding through Assateague Island’s vibrant maritime forest into a scenic boardwalk section with views of Sinepuxent Bay. The sheltered habitat teems with wildlife including wild horses, shorebirds, and the Delmarva fox squirrel.

Getting There

From Berlin, MD, take Route 611 south to Assateague Island National Seashore. Follow the main park road and watch for the Life of the Forest Trail sign on the right. A small parking lot serves the trailhead on the bay side of the island.
