About This Trail
Climb to the 3,150-foot summit above Moosehead Lake, site of the nation’s first fire tower built in 1905, for spectacular views stretching to Mount Katahdin on clear days. The trail steepens dramatically past an old fire warden’s cabin for a rewarding final push to the panoramic top.
