About This Trail

Hike through the Audubon sanctuary past Sunrise Pond to twin peaks near 2,000 feet with spectacular 360-degree views of central Maine’s lake-studded wilderness. The summit trail includes 130 stone steps and steel handholds on the final ascent, and moose are sometimes spotted feeding in the wetlands below.

Getting There

From Monson, take ME-15/6 north and bear right onto Elliotsville Road for 7.6 miles. After crossing the bridge over Wilson Stream, turn left up Mountain Road. Cross the railroad tracks; the parking lot is 0.1 miles ahead on the left.
