About This Trail

This 4.6-mile loop circles Trap Pond State Park, home to the northernmost naturally occurring stand of bald cypress trees on the East Coast, where specimens can reach 150 feet tall and live over 600 years. The flat, well-blazed gravel trail offers pondside views of cypress knees and swamp habitat, with excellent birdwatching throughout the route.

Getting There

From Laurel, take Route 24 east to Trap Pond State Park. Follow the main park road to the Baldcypress Nature Center. The Bob Trail loops 4.5 miles around Trap Pond starting at the nature center.
