About This Trail

This 2.5-mile scenic loop winds through rare Atlantic White Cedar and bald cypress swamp terrain at Trap Pond State Park, passing through one of the most ecologically distinctive habitats in the mid-Atlantic region. The flat, well-maintained trail offers close views of cypress knees rising from dark tannin-stained waters, with the northernmost naturally occurring bald cypress stand on the East Coast.
