About This Trail

This 2-mile scenic swamp-edge path winds past dense clusters of bald cypress knees, the distinctive root protrusions that rise from the dark tannin-stained waters of Trap Pond. The trail follows calm water corridors through the northernmost naturally occurring cypress stand on the East Coast, where great blue herons and prothonotary warblers nest in the swamp canopy.
