About This Trail

This 2.3-mile rolling woodland loop traverses the pine and hardwood uplands surrounding Trap Pond, offering a drier alternative to the park’s swamp-edge trails. The route passes through loblolly pine stands and mixed oak forest on sandy-loam soil, with occasional clearings providing glimpses of the pond and the distinctive flat-topped crowns of mature bald cypress trees.
