About This Trail

An easy 2.6-mile loop along Acadia’s historic carriage roads, the 45-mile network of broken-stone paths commissioned by John D. Rockefeller Jr. in the early 1900s. The shaded route passes through old-growth hemlock forest with gentle grades, offering a peaceful contrast to Acadia’s more exposed summit trails.
