About This Trail

A 7.2-mile ascent from near sea level to Cadillac Mountain’s 1,530-foot granite summit in Acadia National Park, famously one of the first places in the U.S. to see sunrise. The long South Ridge route offers increasingly expansive views over Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, with open granite ledges and blueberry bushes lining the trail.
