About This Trail

One of the oldest stone-step trails in Acadia, this 2-mile climb gains 1,135 feet using hand-carved granite staircases and three iron-rung ladders up the steep east face of Dorr Mountain. The summit rewards with sweeping views of Cadillac Mountain, the coast, and offshore islands. Not suitable for dogs or those sensitive to heights.
