About This Trail

Acadia’s most challenging trail, climbing 1,000 feet in 0.9 miles up the sheer east face of Champlain Mountain via iron rungs, ladders, and narrow cliff ledges. Typically closed March-August for peregrine falcon nesting, this exposed vertical ascent demands steady nerves and sure footing.
