About This Trail

This loop circles the 100-acre Ferncliff Peninsula, a National Natural Landmark surrounded by the Youghiogheny River and known for exceptional plant biodiversity. The trail offers views of Ohiopyle Falls and whitewater rapids while passing through wildflower-rich forest. Four interconnected trails wind through the peninsula’s rare habitat of ferns and old-growth trees.

Getting There

From Farmington, take PA-381 south to Ohiopyle State Park. The Ferncliff Peninsula Trail trailhead is near the Ohiopyle visitor center, accessed by walking across the bridge over the Youghiogheny River.
