A forest hike to Potomac River overlooks in Green Ridge State Forest, Maryland’s largest contiguous public land at 49,000 acres. Point Lookout and Banner’s Overlook offer views from 300 feet above the river, amid over 80 miles of trails in the Ridge and Valley Province.

Getting There

From Flintstone, take I-68 to Exit 64 and head south into Green Ridge State Forest. Follow Mountain Road south toward the Potomac River overlook trails. Trail guides are available at the forest headquarters.
