About This Trail

One of Pennsylvania’s classic loop hikes, this 9-mile circuit in Lycoming County tackles steep climbs with over 1,500 feet of elevation gain, multiple stream crossings, and expansive ridge-top vistas. The trail passes through deep hemlock hollows and climbs to open overlooks above the Loyalsock Creek watershed. Frequently cited as one of the best day hikes in the state for experienced hikers seeking a full-day challenge.

Getting There

From Williamsport, take US-220 south to PA-44 north, then take PA-414 east for 11.5 miles through the Pine Creek Valley. The Golden Eagle Trail begins at the Clark Farm/Utceter Station parking area along PA-414, north of Cammal.
