About This Trail

A 26-mile paved rail trail stretching from Fort Frederick to Little Orleans, nearly flat and ideal for families and casual outings. The western section follows rugged terrain west of Hancock with excellent Potomac River and mountain views, free from interstate noise.

Getting There

From I-70, take exit 3 into Hancock and travel west on MD 144 for 1.4 miles to the Hancock trailhead with a dedicated parking lot in the town's business district.
