About This Trail

A 1.5-mile interpretive trail weaving through a series of small islands connected by footbridges over marshy channels in Ludington State Park. Boardwalks provide easy access to wetland habitat rich with turtles, songbirds, and large waterfowl. Family-friendly with minimal elevation change and connections to the Lost Lake and Ridge Trail loops.

Getting There

From Ludington, take M-116 north to Ludington State Park. Follow the main park road to the Hamlin Lake Day-use Area parking lot where the Island Trail begins.
