About This Trail
Michigan’s most popular backpacking loop combines the Manistee River Trail and North Country Trail into a 19-mile circuit connected by the 246-foot Little Mac suspension bridge, the largest wooden suspension bridge in the Lower Peninsula. The eastern leg follows the Manistee River past bluffs and a scenic waterfall near mile 3. Best hiked May through October.
