About This Trail

The southern section of the Lehigh Gorge Trail begins in the historic Victorian town of Jim Thorpe and follows the Lehigh River north on a smooth crushed-stone surface. The gentle grade passes river rapids, wooded gorge walls, and remnants of 19th-century canal infrastructure. Bike rentals and shuttle services in Jim Thorpe make this one of Pennsylvania’s most popular rail-trail outings.
