A rolling trail through Minnewaska State Park’s pine barrens and rocky outcrops along Peters Kill creek. The route passes through globally rare dwarf pitch pine communities atop the Shawangunk Ridge. A connector to other major preserve trails, it offers quieter scenery between the park’s more popular destinations.

Getting There

From New Paltz, take Route 299 west to Route 44/55. Turn right and continue 3 miles past the Trapps Bridge to the Minnewaska State Park entrance on the left. Continue to the Awosting parking area for the Peters Kill Trail.
