About This Trail
A 3.7-mile round-trip gaining 1,315 feet to a 1917 fire tower at 2,180 feet, with sweeping views of Lake Champlain, the High Peaks, and Vermont. Two trail options include the shorter, steeper Ranger Trail and the gentler Observer’s Trail. The curiously named mountain sits just off I-87 near Plattsburgh.
