About This Trail
A 4.6-mile rugged route through the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness in Baraga County, one of the deepest and most dramatic river gorges in Michigan. The trail descends steeply to overlooks of the Sturgeon River, which has carved a 350-foot-deep canyon through ancient bedrock. Uneven footing with significant elevation changes on the gorge walls.
