About This Trail

A 2.4-mile climb to the summit of Mount Arvon at 1,979 feet, the highest natural point in Michigan, located in remote Baraga County. The trail passes through dense northern hardwood forest to a modest summit marked by a USGS benchmark and register. Four-wheel drive recommended for the rough access road to the trailhead.

Getting There

From L'Anse, take Broad Street north 0.7 miles to Main Street. Turn right onto Skanee Road for 16 miles to Roland Lake Road. Turn right and follow blue diamond signs approximately 11 miles to the summit parking.
