About This Trail

A short loop to the famous Tripod Rock, a 180-ton glacial erratic deposited by the Wisconsin Glacier over 18,000 years ago, appearing impossibly balanced on three smaller stones. Located in Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area near Boonton. The nearby Solstice Stones add archaeological intrigue to the geological wonder.
