About This Trail

This rugged AT section traverses exposed Blue Mountain ridgeline with knife-edge rocks called The Cliffs, Bear Rocks overlooks, and the 1,560-foot summit of Bake Oven Knob. The Lehigh Gap crossing offers dramatic views of the river 1,000 feet below. Rocky, exposed ridge walking with sustained elevation changes makes this one of Pennsylvania’s most demanding AT segments.
