About This Trail
A 5.2-mile quiet loop through the Hoist Lakes Foot Travel Area in Iosco County, where motorized vehicles are prohibited to preserve the backcountry character. The trail crosses sandy jack pine plains, passes several small lakes, and winds through mixed forest. A peaceful northern Lower Michigan hike with excellent fall color and solitude year-round.
