About This Trail

A 5.4-mile moderate pathway through mixed forest and lake country in Iosco County, with sandy sections and rolling terrain typical of Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula. The well-marked trail passes small inland lakes and transitions between pine plantations and hardwood ridges. Popular for cross-country skiing in winter and hiking during fall color season.

Getting There

From Vanderbilt, head east on Sturgeon Valley Road for 11 miles to the Pigeon Bridge Campground in Pigeon River Country State Forest. Day-use parking is across the road from the campground.
