About This Trail

Starting behind the iconic Glade Creek Grist Mill at Babcock State Park, this short trail follows sandstone walls through a rhododendron-canopied corridor before climbing a rocky crevasse. Small ladders, a bridge, and an overlook shelter at the rim reward hikers with views above the Glade Creek valley.

Getting There

From Rainelle, take WV-41 north toward Babcock State Park. Park at the main parking area near Glade Creek Grist Mill. Cross the bridge toward the mill; the Island in the Sky trailhead is behind it.
